A few measurements make the difference.
Check these before taking your plan to the workshop.
Measure the actual sheet thickness
The nominal thickness printed on a sheet is a product label. Measure the sheet you will use and enter that actual number.
Allow for kerf and edge trim
Kerf is the width removed by the blade. Measure it with your actual tool and setup. Edge trim is removed from every edge of each sheet you use. Unused stock stays whole.
Check the space inside
Outside dimensions include the walls. Inset bases fit between them, with the underside level with the wall bottoms.
Respect grain direction
Wall and divider grain runs along part length. The base has no directional requirement in these templates. Turning a part is allowed only when its template and your material settings permit it.
Use offcuts and handle shortages
Measure each sound rectangular offcut and enter it as existing stock with the actual thickness. Choose Existing offcuts first.
