Allow for kerf and edge trim

Kerf is the width removed by the blade. Measure it with your actual tool and setup. Edge trim is removed from every edge of each sheet you use. Unused stock stays whole.

Try it on a complete plan

A 600 × 600 mm sheet with 5 mm edge trim leaves a 590 × 590 mm usable region. Each internal 3 mm cut consumes one 3 mm band. Exact edge fits do not consume an extra imaginary kerf.

Before making

Dry-fit the parts, confirm your actual measurements and follow the instructions supplied with your tools, materials and adhesive. These plans cover simple glued desktop organizers with rectangular parts.
