Fit a tray to a small space

Start with the space you have. Allow room around the tray and check the items inside before making a cut.

What you will take away

A custom tray with outside dimensions, clear interior, parts, cutting maps and assembly, plus your space-check notes.

Example construction. Your result uses the dimensions calculated below.

Before you begin

  1. Measure the narrowest clear width and depth. Include drawer runners, handles and other obstructions.
  2. Reserve a gap at each side and enough space above to reach the contents. Check the full route in and out.
  3. Enter the largest item in its intended orientation, including any handling allowance. Download the plan only when both the item and stock fit.

If the item does not fit, reduce the item set or choose a larger space. Reducing the wall thickness also requires matching material and a new calculation.

From your space to a tray
