Choose plywood for a first project

Compare two sheet options for the same five-part tray before you buy. See which stock fits and how much material is left.

What you will take away

Two stock-use results and a complete build pack for your selected option. The project stays the same so the material comparison is meaningful.

Example construction. Your result uses the dimensions calculated below.

Before you begin

  1. Use one straight-cut tray: 400 × 250 × 100 mm. Measure the actual plywood thickness.
  2. Enter two sheet sizes and available quantities from your supplier. Compare each offer separately using the same kerf, trim and grain direction.
  3. Choose a feasible option and download its exact cut list and assembly. Check local prices and tool instructions separately.

If a long grain-locked wall cannot fit, a larger total area will not fix it. Check the length direction or choose another sheet size. This comparison does not search every stock size or claim the cheapest purchase.

All measurements are in millimeters. Values below are examples; enter your own measurements. Grain-locked walls stay aligned with the sheet grain.
